A Nigerian Saheed Ladega of Grays Greater London, has been found guilty of using a fake Nigerian Passport in the name of Daniel Cole. He also had a fake Drivers License. Ladega who had no job paid £200,000 deposit towards a £650,000 house. He was arrested as part of benefits fraud investigations.
Ladega was sentenced to 15 Months imprisonment at the Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court; He was sentenced alongside another Nigerian, Oluwatosin Gbadebo who lived at West Ham. Gbadebo was caught using the fake “Daniel Cole” passport whilst working as a cleaner. Gbadebo was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.

How Odili Looted Rivers State

Since Saharareporters broke the news about the massive looting of Rivers State by Governor Peter Odili, the EFCC had swung into action arresting scores of Rivers State officials including the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, who news reports said was found with N20 billion in his personal account. But the President has been putting pressure on the EFCC to "slow down" on his right hand man and business partner, Dr. Peter Odili. Hence, all arrested persons have been released and now it is business as usual in Rivers State.
Saharareporters sources said, apart from Rivers State Governor Peter Odili, governors James Ibori and Lucky Igbinedon of Edo and Delta States respectively have been investigated by the EFCC with similar reports indicting them of massive fraud and corrutption being suppressed by President Obasanjo. Apparently, Governor James Ibori was the "big kahuna" who provided huge sums of money for the Yar'Adua presidential primary campaigns and hence he was given a blanket pardon by Obasanjo. In line with its statutory mandate, the Commission received and responded to numerous petitions against the Executive Governor of River State, Dr. Peter Odili and some officials of the State in the past several weeks. After careful investigation, major findings were made pointing to severe implications of fraud, conspiracy, conversion of public funds, foreign exchange malpractice, money laundering, stealing and abuse of oath of office. 2.0 Facts of these of Petitions:The petitioners stated that they carried out a private investigation into government looting of the treasury of Rivers State by Governor Peter Odili and alleged amongst the following:
i. That the sum of =N=24.6billion was used by the government of Rivers State at various times to build gas turbines as part of its Independent Power Programme yet the people of the State could not enjoy uninterrupted power failure.
ii. That this elaborate electricity project was executed without appropriate legislation by the State House of Assembly in flagrant abuse Constitutional requirements.
iii. That the contractor behind the scam is Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, the proprietor of a number of companies prominent among which are: Rockson Engineering Company Limited, Arik Air, etc.
iv. That the Government of Dr. Peter Odili had several financial dealings amounting to about N3.5 billion Naira with Rockson Engineering Company Limited long before the company was incorporated on 16th May, 2000.
v. That Rockson Engineering Company Limited was involved in a number of fraudulent procurement of Iveco buses and Ferryboats for the State at the instance of the State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili.
vi. That the same Rockson Engineering Company limited, with its star quality business leverage, curiously has among its four major directors, Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, and Mrs. Mary Ehiomome Arumemi-Ikhide.
vii. That between December 2005 and January 2006, the sum of over N1 billion was disbursed by Dr. Peter Odili to members of the Rivers State House of Assembly in the name of 2004 Constituency Project that were never executed.
viii. That there has been illegal diversion of Local Government Councils’ funds by Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Odili to the tune of =N=4,351,555,000.00ix. That various illegal diversions of funds from the various State Government accounts were done by the Governor and officials of the State, sometimes through Rockson Engineering Company Limited.
x. That the siphoning of government funds was also done through the State Ecological Fund accounts where =N=176million was collected by Mr. Goodlife Ben, the Accountant of the Government House and =N=34million by one Mr. Vernon.
xi. That the Governor voted and procured two jets and one hundred vehicles committed to his Presidential campaign, as he did not raise any fund from the public for the campaign.
xii. Lastly, the Petitioners called on the Commission to check these frauds.
3.0 InvestigationThe Investigating Team commenced full work into the allegation enumerated above by inviting the principal officers of the State that were implicated. The officers invited were the Commissioners for Finance, Local Government and Works, Messrs Kenneth Kobani, Mella O. Oforibika, and Arc Ucheowaji J. Urombo respectively. The Accountant General of the State, Mr. Geoffrey Senior Jaja, was also invited and they all volunteered written statement.
Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, the Chairman of Arik Air Nigeria Limited among several other companies like Rockson Engineering Ltd, Ojemai Holdings Limited, etc were also invited and they volunteered statements. Searches were conducted in the offices of Arik Air Nigeria Ltd. and Rockson Engineering Company Ltd in Lagos and Port Harcourt respectively.
Some documents relating to contracts and foreign exchange transfers were found and retrieved for analyses. Letters have been dispatched to banks to avail the Commission documents and statements of the State and Local Government accounts of Rivers State, of some companies and of individuals. Some banks have forwarded statements and documents, which have been analysed /examined.
4.0 FindingsBased on the investigation carried out so far, the following facts were revealed.
i. Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide, the Chairman of several companies, is a major contractor to the Government of Rivers State. He was awarded several contracts by the State Government including the Independent Power Programme (IPP), Supply of buses and cars, etc.
ii. Prior to becoming a major contractor to the State Government in 2000, Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide was a shareholder of, and an Executive Director in, Negris Engineering Nigeria Limited. He worked for the company for over eighteen (18) years before leaving the company, as a result of misunderstanding with the other management staff, to form Rockson Engineering Nigeria Limited in 2000.
iii. While he was still with Negris, he provided an interface between Negris and Rivers State Government during which two major contracts were secured for the company. The contracts were the supply and installation of generating sets and transformers worth =N=401,016,101.00. The other contract was the supply, construction and installation of turbine power station worth =N=4,256,076,000.00 in 2000.
iv. The second contract was about 60% completed when Mr. Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide left Negris and suddenly became the consultant to Rivers State on the same contract using his then newly formed company, Rockson Engineering Company Limited. The remaining payment for the Negris contract were routed through his company where the sum of =N=734,764,749.00 is yet to be remitted to Negris.
v. The incorporation of Rockson Engineering in 2000 immediately he left Negris marked the beginning of siphoning huge government funds that run into several billions of naira through gas turbines contract scam.
vi. Rivers State Government diverted the sum of =N=30,031,446,589.70 at various times to account number CA6010914407 at Zenith Bank Plc belonging to Rockson Engineering Company Limited just between January 07, 2004 to December 06, 2006.
vii. Investigation also revealed that Rockson Engineering Company Limited has several bank accounts with Bank PHB Plc, Sterling Bank Plc, and United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Plc, Intercontinental Bank Plc and Union Bank of Nigeria (UBN) Plc. These banks were involved in the inflated contracts between Rivers State Government and Rockson. The statements of accounts from these banks are being awaited to ascertain the magnitude of the inflows of the State Government funds into these accounts.
viii. Further investigation disclosed that Dr. Peter Odili curiously approved the remittance of $250,000 to a London-based Swiss Ver Finance, as an arrangement fee for the purchase of two gas turbines transmission towers and accessories.
viv. Mr.Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide has a long-standing relationship with the Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili dating back to middle eighties. He served as an interface between Negris and Rivers State Government. He used one of his companies, Ojemai Investment Ltd to acquire a property at No. 67 Trans Amadi Industrial Layout belonging to UTC Nigeria Plc for the private hospital called Pamo Clinics and Hospitals Ltd, belonging to Dr. Peter Odili the Governor of Rivers State at a cost of =N=200million.
ix. Investigation revealed that funds were diverted from Rivers State Government Account to Rockson Engineering Limited, where it was transferred instalmentally between March 2005 to November 2006 from Bank Account Number 6571020007472 with Union Bank Plc. to the following Companies:
a. Alpha System & Commodity Co. Ltd N=3,957,734,700.00
b. Sea Petroleum & Gas Co. Ltd. N=6,623,940,500.00
c. Peg Magrect Shipping & Trading Ltd. =N=638, 320,000.00
d. Wopat Nig. Ltd. =N= 276,100,000.00
e. Dairy & Live-Stock Ltd. =N=281,000,000.00
f. Arula Investment =N=330, 000,000.00
Total =N= 12,107,105,000.00
It is important to know that investigation has established that all the money was used to purchase foreign exchange which was exported out of the country.
x. It was revealed that the sum of =N= 2,547,300,000.00 was diverted from Government House Zenith Account No. 6010916589 between September 05 and November 06 to one Emmanuel Nkata, a personal staff of the Governor working at the Rivers state liaison office Abuja. All withdrawals were in cash and without any official transaction and documentation.
xi. It was revealed that the contract for the construction of the River State High Court was bidded at =N=2,582,000,000 but was awarded to one Company called Mega Trend investment company Ltd. at the value of =N=3, 4000,000,000 thereby inflating it by =N= 818 Million in violation of the Due Process requirement of the government.
xii. It has also been discovered that a parallel account called account 2; a/c No. 0130215431600 was opened with UBA PLC in the name of Rockson Engineering. From 2001 when the account was opened to 2002, the sum of =N=12,064,988,787.61 was paid into the account from Rivers state Government. Interestingly, Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide denied knowledge of the existent of this account. So far, the sum of =N=12, 059,602,734.20 has been withdrawn from the said account. This is clear evidence of direct looting of the treasury of Rivers state.
xiii. That Government Funds were diverted to the purchase of various vehicles between January 2005 and June 2006 from various car dealers using Government House account number 6010916587 with Zenith Bank as follows:
a. Peugeot Automobile - #424,474,681.75
b. Cosharis Motors - #166,500,000.00
c. Stallion Motors - #230,500,000.00
d. Ningi Motors - # 75,125,000.00
e. Noble Motors - #39,970,062.25
f. Elizade Motors - #135,700,000.00
g. Inej Mic Automobile - #39,875,000.00
h. Kaara Motors Limited - #6,862,500.00
i. Globe Motors Limited - #18,250,000.00
j. Icon Motors Limited - #7,250,000.00
Total = #1,104,008,304.00
This was unquestionably a ploy used to siphon public funds by the Governor, as no Government House can accommodate vehicles purchased with this amount of money.
xiv. It was further established that Rockson Engineering Company Limited transferred over $120million through JM/JEM Air and one Thomas Eggar, a lawyer in the UK, to various bank accounts overseas. Over GBP2million and EURO 1million were also transferred overseas in the same manner. These transfers were done between January and November 2006. It is important to note that all the naira denomination of these transfers were direct lodgements originating from Rivers state Government accounts.
xv. It has also been established that Mr Arumemi¬-Ikhide the business partner of the Rivers State Governor, is the owner of ARIK AIR LIMITED. He used monies received from the Rivers state Government to acquire all the assets and aircrafts of the company estimated to be worth over =N= 25billion.
xvi. The Political and business relationship between Dr. Odili and Mr Arumemi-Ikhide has become more obvious since the former’s declaration to run for the Presidency. Investigation conducted at various hotels such as Transcorp Hilton, le Meridien, Sheraton etc in Abuja revealed that the Odili campaign organization made bookings worth =N=130 million through his campaign management team. The money came directly from the accounts of Arik Air Ltd. The origin of the money is linked directly to Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide for Dr. Odili’s campaign.
CONCLUSION.
From the investigation thus far, it is abundantly clear that the Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, is using Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide and his Rockson Engineering Company Ltd as a front and a crony for the systematic looting of the treasury of the Rivers state Government. This was unquestionably a ploy used to siphon public funds by the Governor, as no Government House can accommodate vehicles purchased with this amount of money.
xiv. It was further established that Rockson Engineering Company Limited transferred over $120million through JM/JEM Air and one Thomas Eggar, a lawyer in the UK, to various bank accounts overseas. Over GBP2million and EURO 1million were also transferred overseas in the same manner. These transfers were done between January and November 2006. It is important to note that all the naira denomination of these transfers were direct lodgements originating from Rivers state Government accounts.
xv. It has also been established that Mr Arumemi¬-Ikhide the business partner of the Rivers State Governor, is the owner of ARIK AIR LIMITED. He used monies received from the Rivers state Government to acquire all the assets and aircrafts of the company estimated to be worth over =N= 25billion.
xvi. The Political and business relationship between Dr. Odili and Mr Arumemi-Ikhide has become more obvious since the former’s declaration to run for the Presidency. Investigation conducted at various hotels such as Transcorp Hilton, le Meridien, Sheraton etc in Abuja revealed that the Odili campaign organization made bookings worth =N=130 million through his campaign management team. The money came directly from the accounts of Arik Air Ltd. The origin of the money is linked directly to Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide for Dr. Odili’s campaign.
CONCLUSION.
From the investigation thus far, it is abundantly clear that the Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, is using Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide and his Rockson Engineering Company Ltd as a front and a crony for the systematic looting of the treasury of the Rivers state Government. The result of this relationship reveals that over =N= 100billion of Rivers State funds have been diverted by the Governor Dr. Odili using Mr. Arumemi- Ikhide and his related companies.

Rascality In High Places
I got a few emails, some were quite good and others were ehmm ehm… not so nice! But that is life for you wetin concern me, I am just a bloody Molue driver. Going forward, you will see more posts about what I have termed as Rascality in High Places in Naija. It took a lot of work and driving around the roads of Naija in my battered Molue to get the gist. So what exactly is this Rascality in High Places? Well it is a story of corruption and moral decadence in the Corridors of Power. Nollywood is rife with stories of threesomes and lesbianism (we have a few stories there) and most people think it is a recent trend. Well they are wrong because such have been happening in high places in Naija.
Just a taster… how many of you have heard about the Male University of Jos student who committed suicide because of the African Maradonna? What about the mobile network mogul who is a Pillow Bitter? There is the First Lady in the South-South state who is a chronic lesbian who will do anything for her girls. The South-South is a cesspool of iniquity. There is the South-South Governor who fathered a child with the daughter of one of his commissioners! And another First Lady who was besotted with her jail bird lover in London. The affair got so serious that His Excellency himself went to London to threaten the Jail bird lover of his wife! What about the South East Governor whose speciality is Prostitutes anytime he lands London; he even took one of them to the State House in his State!

How African Independent Television (AIT) Was Formed
African Independent Television (AIT) was recently hailed as the great defender of freedom and justice by Comrade Adams Oshiomole. No be small thing o. I wish Adams was on the molue to hear the gist as to how AIT started.
Chief Dokpesi we all know is the brain behind AIT. Well some years ago, the man was a business partner of Chief MKO and the Late Yar’ Adua when they owned African Ocean Lines (AOL). Raymond was the person running things on a day to day basis. Because of his profligacy and skirt chasing, it was no surprise when the business soon pafuka, this lead to quarrel between the 3 men. Raymond took sides with Yar’ Adua against MKO and this marked the beginning of serious bad belle between both men.
Raymond cranked things up when he staged managed an attempted assassination against himself and blamed it on MKO. He went to the extent of forging a death threat letter and had somebody fire a gun at his house. MKO expectedly was furious at Raymond's blackmail and character assassination. He called Raymond to tell him that for having the audacity to to rubbish his name in a bogus assassination attempt, he MKO was actually going to do it and this time it was going to be real.
Raymond hoped for support from Yar’Adua and when that was not forthcoming, he started panicking, he tried to apologise to MKO but he was rebuffed. He eventually went to MD Yusuf who was friends with MKO and begged him to intercede as he feared that MKO was truly going to have him killed. To cut a long story short, MD Yusuf was able to cool MKO and as a pre condition for “forgiveness” Raymond had to take out advertorials in National Newspapers retracting the assassination story. With alacrity Raymond took out the advertorials and he was let off by MKO who told him at the meeting “…you are a very lucky man. If not for MD, I would have shown you pepper...”
Years on, Raymond came upon the idea of starting a cable TV station like DISC Engineering, but because DISC was already strong in Lagos, he decided to site his own cable station at Ibadan, all equipments were purchased and he was ready to take off, but then he suddenly realised that it was not going to be a viable business, he now told close friends that he wanted to start a Radio / TV station. But by now June 12 wahala has started, IBB has stepped aside, Shonekan had been INGed aside and the mad dog Abacha was in power. How to get the mad dog to grant him a TV License?
Enter Barmanga Tukur a one time business associate of Raymond. Bamanga took Raymond to Abacha and introduced him as “ Your Excellency, this is the man that has been fighting Abiola for years..he will like to start a radio and TV stations to continue the fight”. That was enough for the mad dog who was looking for all means to contain the June 12 forces in the Lagos area. Without much ado, a license was given to Raymond and all stops pulled out to start Raypower / AIT with the express mandate of checkmating the June 12 people in the media.

Nigerian (Kpomo Mouth) Brothers Shoot woman in Peckham
These are the three Nigerian boys that were part of a gang that shot dead an African woman at a party in South East London last year. Brothers Diamond (17yrs, Middle), Timi Babamuboni (16yrs, 1st right) were joined by another Nigerian Jude Odigie (16yrs) and some other boys in the robbery. They shot Zainab Kalokoh a Sierra Leone woman who had only arrived the UK a couple of years before.They made everybody lie face down and robbed them of their possessions. Even though they wore balaclavas, they were eventually caught by the Police.The two brothers have been involved in robbery and muggings from when they about 10 years old. Those of us who always thought Nigerian Parents were disciplinarians are shocked by this gruesome act. Thier parents who were assylum seekers have had their application for assylum rejected. The brothers are expected to be deported at the end of their prison terms. I hope they are tried again in Nieria when they get there. It must be pointed out that it is unheard of in Naija for a 10 year old to go steal a car as Timi did when he was 10. Back in Naija robbers and thieves, if caught, are subjected to “jungle justice”, a tyre is put around their necks and set alight.Times like these make me miss Nija!

Atiku and the 22 year old Doctor
Wonders will never end! The other day a passenger that boarded my Molue was telling me about how Atiku was toasting a 22 year old London based babe. The story is that this Baby Doctor who qualified at the age of 22 in England is a friend of Atiku’s daughter. Baby doc went to Atiku’s house in London to see the daughter and this was how Oga Atiku met her, with any waste of time, he started toasting the babe.
Thinking she was like most of the vampires, that think they are girls, back home in Naija, Atiku threw money at her. He would typically give her like £1,000 as cab fare anytime she visited the house. One time when she went on a trip to Spain with Atiku’s daughter (I was told she went there to buy some properties) Atiku gave Baby Doc £5,000 as pocket money and told her to look around in Spain and if she found any property she liked, she should let him know so that he can pay for it! Not content with that, he invited Baby Doc’s sister to the Rock and gave her N500, 000 as cab fare when she was leaving!
At this point Baby Doc was becoming uncomfortable with the whole thing. Atiku’s daughter knew what was going down and even told Baby Doc of her Daddy’s love for her! Baby Doc, though flattered by the attention, was not ready to succumb to the advances of the lecherous old man. About same time, some Good Samaritan gave Baby Doc a copy of one of the soft sell magazines back in Naija that reported the Oshinowo “needing anal surgery” story. Fearing that she was going to be rear ended like Oshinowo, Baby Doc fled for dear life. After repeated unanswered phone calls to her, the penny finally dropped for Atiku! Damn, this babe escaped his clutches!

When a CREATIVE Gets Your Zen!!
I have had my Zen Micro MP3 Player for about 16 Months, but it went and died on me. Well I was not ready to fork out $300 to get it fixed by CREATIVE (not when I can get a new MP3 player for less) having tried all suggestions I could find on the net, I finally lost patience and decided to open it! Before then I contemplated sticking it into a microwave and because I was not sure of the consequences, I opted of the less hazardous option of taking it apart! But well the damn thing is kaput now!! I am hoping I find a new MP3 Player under the Christmas tree, but Dear Santa please don’t make it a CREATIVE Player!

Woman with No Gender
This is the picture of a woman that failed a gender test! No she is not Nigerian. She is Indian and her name is Santhi Soundararajan (You will bite your tongue if you try to pronounce it!) She / He/ It was voted Female Athlete in India recently. Told of her failed test Soundararajan, refused to comment saying, “I was not informed about the test results and I don't know much on that. I do not want to talk about it”.According to reports (this is the part I really find confusing) she passed a similar gender test at the Asian Track & Filed games held in South Korea last year. Question is: what has changed since then? First she was female and now she aint. This reminds me of the occasional genital disappearance stories in Naija. Somebody told me, a long time ago, that one of such devilish people was caught and found with various genital in a bag and was forced to return them to their owners and he even made the mistake of giving wrong ones to different people. Back to my story…was Soundararajan anywhere near those people in Naija that make genitals disappear? Was she given a male one back in error? I am really confused

When I tell people that you can’t mess with Naija they never believe! Well Akon the Senegalese Rap Star found out the hard way that Naija is a different ball game when he performed over the weekend at the Polo Club Lagos. He was so carried away by his performance that he dived into the crowd to people surf. Well by the time he landed, his belt was gone. Yeppaaa!! All Akon could say was “My belt is missing men…”, fortunately for him, he got a replacement!
This will not be the first time Akon will loose something during a gig in Lagos. Last year at the Oceanview Retaurant in Lagos, Akon lost his ring! Who will pair Yar' Adua?
Happy to hear that Yar’ Adua won the PDP nomination for next years' Presidential elections (refer to my earlier post on this) It wasn’t much of a surprise anyway, not after news filtered out that OBJ was backing him. My money is still on Donald Duke for VP even though reports have it that he was throwing his toys out of his pram after he was made to step down for Yar’ Adua
I will be gob smacked if Odilli ,as has been widely reported, clinches the VP ticket. The man has too many skeletons in his cupboard and I just can’t see him working well with YA. Another person that has been mentioned is the CBN Governor. Please I beg , let that remain what it is; a mere rumour. The man is doing fantastically well at the CBN, why push him into the murky waters of politics? We all know how a one time Governor of the CBN, Clement Isong , fared as Governor.

Gays in Anglican Church
Interesting to read that the oldest and largest Anglican Churches in the US (Truro and Falls) have voted to severe links with Episcopal Church because of its decision, three years ago, to consecrate a gay Bishop. Not just that, they have decided to place themselves under the leadership of Archbishop Peter Akinola the leader of the 17 Million plus Anglican movement in Nigeria.
If you like call me old fashion or homophobic, but just what did the Episcopal Church expect out of their flawed decision to consecrate a gay Bishop? Now I am not the church going type. But I know that the Bible which is the key book of the Anglicans and Christianity frowns upon homosexuality. The church is not a social club that has a constitution that can be changed willy-nilly. The gays were quite aware of the Bibles stance on homosexuality before they joined the church, why then are they now turning scriptures upside down? This is just like me a Black man going to join the British National Party (BNP) and turning round to complain that it is racist and should change to accommodate me. Simon Vs Leona
Am I alone in thinking that Simon Cowell has a crush on Leona, the Winner of this years X Factor? It is so obvious in the way he look at her and talks about her. Still on the X-Factor I was surprised that Leona won.

Miracle Evangelist Arrested
Glad to read that Gilbert Deya the so called “Man of God” cum visionary has been arrested on charges of child trafficking. For years Deya and his wife lied about non existent powers that, he claimed ,enabled him make infertile women to get pregnant.
DNA tests have shown that over 20 miracle babies where products of child trafficking and had no links with the so called parents.
It was really upsetting that despite all the claims and the arrest o fhis wife, OBE and BEN Television still provided him a platform to further espouse his lies.

Suicide Bombers in Naija!!!
I almost fell out of my chair with laughter when I read the interview Teks Olumo (shown left), the self acclaimed leader of the Movement For the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) granted the Sun Newspaper. The interview shows Olumo for what he is; a confused and misguided area boy barking up the wrong tree. On one hand he makes the release of Asari Dokubo and Alamasiegha as condition for peace, but he goes on to agree that the cross dressing Alams was a thief just like other Governors. So why are you insisting that a thief be released?
Olumo who has been fighting the Federal Government agreed with the same Government by claiming that it is the Governors who are the problems of the Niger Delta. If this be the case, why then are they harassing and kidnapping oil workers? Apart from the politics of extortion what exactly does MEND stand for? The part that really got me laughing was when he said MEND will start sending out suicide bombers! Can you imagine the average I jaw area boy fat on ransom money volunteering to be blown up? I don’t think so!

The PDP Candidate
Just waiting anxiously for the outcome of the PDP Presidential Primaries tomorrow, I think Yar’ Adua will get it, everything points to it. Why else will IBB step down? The more I think about it the more I think choosing Yar’ Adua is a brilliant master stroke by OBJ. Yar’ Adua appears above board, he is humble and he performed as Governor of Katsina. Not just these, his choice by the PDP will take out Buhari in the North and will whittle down the influence of Atiku in the old PDM which was put together by the late elder Yar’ Adua, his choice is like a stake through the heart of Atiku!
But who will be his running mate? I don’t think OBJ will be stupid enough to put Andy Uba forward, not after the certificate scandal. Something tells me that it might just be Donald Duke, he like Yar’ Adua has not been tainted by sleaze or accusations of corruption. Some might be tempted to go for Odilli, but I just don’t see him getting it, because as we all know, the man is not above board

Just when you thought things were returning to normal with the return of Ladoja, you then hear of the infamous 18 legislators PROTECTED by over 100 Policemen and area boys causing pandemonium at the State Secretariat. Just what is going on there? Is it that Adedibu The Greedy Man of Ibadan is bigger than Oyo state or is that the Oyo people are bloody cowards who cannot stand up for their rights?

Cesc You Should Have Floored the Nokia Loving Twat!!
One fixture I was looking forward to right from the beginning of the season was the Chelsea Vs Arsenal clash. It was a shame that Arsenal did not go there with a full squad because of injuries and suspension to key players like Henry, Gallas and Toure. But in the end the Gooners did not let themselves down, playing away from home with a very young squad, they were still able to earn a 1-1 draw.
My only disappointment was that nobody broke that idiot, Cashely Cole’s legs. I hate that brother with a passion, the Nokia loving greedy b*****d is a disgrace to football. I was happy to read that after the match Cesc Fabregas was involved in an off field altercation with him. If you recall, Fabregas was one of the players the w****r criticised, for no just reason, in his book. After the match he apparently tried to shake hands with Fabregas but the Spanish lad rightly refused. Reports have it that RVP was also involved and it took the intervention of Chelsea match officials to calm things down.
I have never hated another brother as much as I do Cashley. I wish Fabregas had punched his lights out. In any case I hope he will be in the side when the teams meet again at the Emirates Stadium next May, until then Cashely go count your money, play with your Nokia phone or do something unnatural to other guys!

Yar’Adua: More than a name

Governor Umar Yar’Adua comes into the presidential race with more than the Yar’Adua name. His pedigree as a scion of the well-known Yar’Adua family whose selfless, courageous and continuous service to humankind is remarkable, is not what qualifies him for the presidential race. He packs illustrious achievements as the governor of his native Katsina State.
His father was the Minister of Lagos Affairs in the 60s, and his elder brother, Shehu, was the Chief of General Staff to Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, and retired as a General at the age of 36. When Umar became governor in 1999 and again in 2003, many thought it was all about the influence of his elder brother, who set up a political platform, the Peoples Democratic Movement. Few expected that Umar had anything to prove.
His tenure in Katsina is a testimony to service, selflessness and exemplary connection with the people, for a man that comes from a privileged background that would have made the people to worship him. The Yar’Adua family, has the enviable privilege of holding the Mutawelle (custodian of emirate treasury) title, traditionally bestowed by the Emir on the sons of Katsina believed to possess the uncommon and unblemished qualities of honesty and integrity for more than three generations.
Governor Yar’Adua has lived to these expectations and set new standards for them, even to the shock of those who already knew him. He represents the new face of service, an uncommon characteristic that has been lacking in our polity. For him, the service he provided in Katsina State was nothing new, and so, he made no noise about it. But one of the regrets of the people is that he would be gone as governor by May 29. Their loss could be the gain of the entire country if the Peoples Democratic Party chooses him as its presidential candidate.
Yar’Adua honed his political direction as a follower of the sage Aminu Kano. He was a member of the Peoples Redemption Party in the Second Republic and a leading member of the PRP think-tank working with the likes of late Dr. Bala Usman of the Ahmadu Bello University. His politics is about the common good, the people, accountability, integrity and getting things done without the attention some manage to draw to themselves.
One of the outstanding things about the governor is his proactive integrity. On assumption of office, without prompting, he published his declaration of assets and did so again on winning re-election in 2003. The law only provides that he should declare his asset, but he went a step further by making them public. His entry into the presidential race has doubtlessly changed the calculations, not because of the Yar’Adua name, but because this is one candidate whose other name should be outstanding performer.
Dramatic results have been achieved in education. Primary school enrolment has jumped from just 460,000 in 1999 to over one million. A scholarship trust fund with an initial capital investment of N1.5 billion initiated by the state and local governments of the state has guaranteed potential students in the future access to scholarship. The reduction of student population in the primary school from an average of 250 students to 40 pupils per class is another feat. Yar’Adua wants to bring his revolution in Katsina State to the national level, in keeping with his commitment to serving Nigeria.

Just Another dead Nigger
“…Death is no stranger to Black folks. We've been dying ever since we got here…” *
The story had a familiar ring to it. A young Blackman has been killed by the Police in New York. Sean Bell who was just 23 was out on his stag night when the car he was travelling in was shot over 50 TIMES by some animals in human skin dressed as New York Police officers. And to think we thought the Met Police officers who shot Jean Charles De Menezes, seven times, were trigger happy.
What in Gods name will make supposedly trained Police Officers fire over 50 shots at a car whose occupants were not armed? If there was an exchange of fire then perhaps there could be some argument for their excessive firing. But there was none, they three occupants of the car were not even carrying a knife. So what caused the Policemen (animals not policemen) to want to kill all three men? I will tell you what made them open fire; because they were Black.
This will not be the first time that an innocent Black person will be killed by the Police in America. In 2001, Timothy Thomas an UNARMED Black teenager was shot by a White Police officer. In 2000, Patrick Dorismond another UNARMED Black man was killed by the police. In 1999, in an incident that shocked all decent people, four white police officers shot an UNARMED African immigrant Amadou Diallo over 40 times.
It will seem that the mantra of the Police in the United States is “when you shoot at a Black man, make sure you kill him”. There is nothing like shooting to incapacitate. It is “shoot to kill” simple. After all it will be one less Nigger on the street. It is when things like this happen that I thank God that at the very least, I live in a society where there is the rule of Law and where the Police will not pump 50 odd bullets in you simply because of the colour of your skin.
I have always believed that there is something sinister and evil in the heart of middle white America as far as Black people are concerned. You only need to scratch the surface to reveal the bigotry and rabid hatred of Black people by the Law Enforcement agencies in America. Should this be a surprise? No I will say. Why? because these agencies are populated by KKK loving Cops.
Not too long in the violent history of the United States, it was common practise to hang Black men. This was a period during which Black people were hung from the nearest trees just for the fun of it. Then such hangings were public events, hundreds and sometimes thousands, including men and women turned up to enjoy the spectacle

The killing of Sean Bell is simply a carry over of the bad old days when groups of white people in America killed black people for recreation. If Sean Bell were white he will be alive today. This is the sad reality of life in the US.

Furthering a Negative Stereotype
Just the other day, I don’t know why, but I got thinking about Spike Lee’s master piece; Malcolm X. I remembered the masterful display of Denzel Washington. I kept thinking about Malcolm X talking about the dictionary definition of the word “Black”. Malcolm X was very critical of the dictionary entries under the word Black. Just out of curiosity, I decided to check the meaning of the word in a dictionary. After all in this age of advancement and Political Correctness, it might have a more positive meaning. Or so I thought.
According to Dictionary.com, black, amongst other negative descriptions, is “without any moral quality or goodness; evil; wicked: His black heart has concocted yet another black deed.” It also goes on to describe Black as “deliberately; harmful; inexcusable: a black lie”. In all, there were 35 descriptions for the colour black, all save one or two were negative (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/black).
Compare this to the same definition of the word “white”. There were 42 definitions, ALL of them were positive. White is described as “morally pure; innocent” (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=white). I was stunned, how can this be? But then I should have not expected any better. You only need to open your eyes and ears to see and hear the constant vilification of Black people in the British media. Why do they hate us this much?
Sometime ago, I was on an IT training course and it was one of those rare moments when majority of the course participants were black. The Instructor was white and he had a horrible time trying to explain the spam filtering functionality of the product he was teaching. Even though the course materials clearly stated “Blacklist” and “Whitelist” for banned and allowed items into a network, he was too embarrassed to use the words instead he chose to refer to them as “Banned” and “Allowed”. “ Why is he getting embarrassed” one of the black attendees asked me during coffee break, “after all it simply reflects the thinking of white people, they never want black people inside…” Inside where? I wanted to ask him. But I understood what he meant.
I might not go as far as saying all white people want to “keep black people out”. But I do know that the British media is geared towards portraying Black people in the worst possible way. The media is always quick to point out that the suspect is “black”. Another favourite term is “Operation Trident is…” This is another way of the media saying the crime was by a Black person (http://www.stoptheguns.org/whatistrident/index.phpP. This phrase has also been used in cases of stabbings. Why is there no special Police unit for predominantly white crimes?
What I cant seem to understand is how the media is able to individualise white crimes but generalise crimes committed by Black people. Anytime there is a Black on Black violence, the Police will always appeal to “Community Leaders” or “members of the community”. In a case of “white on white violence” there is only an appeal for witnesses. No mention of “community”. Do they really think we hold tribal meetings every day after work or something?
What makes the media to assume that as a Black person you should know what other black people in your area are doing? Why is the average Blackman perceived as a gun totting, rapist and drug dealing mugger? Some might say it is because most drug dealers and muggers are black. If that be the case, why then is the average middle aged white man not perceived as a paedophile? After all majority of the paedophiles are middle aged white men.
Some time ago a study was carried out amongst young Black and White children. This was aimed at knowing just how they felt about the two races. Even the Black children did not want to be Black. How can you blame them when “black” in this country has been portrayed so negatively? One can only just imagine the damage that such negative stereotyping is doing the psyche of young black children. Depending on parents' values, racial socialization can emphasize achievement, morality, racial equality and self-esteem; the minority experience, including awareness of discrimination; or black culture
Sadly it is not only the white media that have furthered the negative black stereotype. Trevor Phillips, the supposed head of the useless CRE (Commission for Racial Equality) I must stress that anytime this man opens his mouth, it is to change foot, sometime ago suggested that Black boys be taught in separate classrooms. It is baffling how he arrived at this conclusion. It is no wonder that Ken Livingstone, The Mayor of London and a white man said Trevor Phillips was so right wing he could be BNP. If we need to change how people perceive us, we need to start from home.
